Western Bay of Plenty Neighbourhood Support and the Merivale Community Centre are excited to announce a FREE community event focused on building wellness, safety, and connectedness in the heart of Merivale. Sirens and Services in Merivale: Community Wellness and Safety will take place on Saturday, 24th May 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the Action Centre, Merivale School.
This collaborative event brings together a variety of local services, support networks, and the community to celebrate and reinforce the importance of a safe, healthy, and vibrant Merivale. Attendees can expect a fun-filled afternoon with exciting entertainment for tamariki, fantastic giveaways for rangatahi and whānau, as well as opportunities to participate in a challenge to earn a take-home pack of essential items.
“This event is about more than just providing information—it’s about encouraging wellness and safety for Merivale,” said Rebecca Larsen, Event Coordinator at Western Bay of Plenty Neighbourhood Support. “It’s a chance for people to come together, meet their neighbours, and engage with the services that help keep our community safe, healthy, and thriving.”
Attendees will also have the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas on ways to enhance safety and wellness in Merivale.
“We want to hear from the people who live here. This is their chance to be a part of shaping the future of Merivale,” said Gemma Cramp, Office Manager at the Merivale Community Centre. “The goal is to create a space where everyone feels welcomed and supported.”
This event is free and open to all members of the Merivale community.
